Senior GIS and Computer-Aided Design Technician

Job description

Leads GIS activities and provides spatial support for the project. Develops, manages and maintains project databases and GIS systems. Collects, processes, validates, analyzes and visualizes spatial data. Maintains accurate GIS layers for infrastructure, facilities, roads, pavements, sewage and other assets. Integrates survey data, CAD designs, 3D BIM models, satellite, UAV and field data into GIS platforms. Ensures spatial information aligns with the project's coordinate system. Reviews GIS data for accuracy, completeness, consistency and compliance. Creates and maintains data standards, metadata and data structures. Performs spatial analysis to support engineering, construction, planning, logistics and asset management. Develops and maintains GIS maps, drawings, dashboards and visualization products. Supports project teams with spatial queries, analysis and geographic information. Coordinates with surveying teams for precise spatial control, coordination and reference data. Coordinates with 3D BIM teams to integrate models with GIS as required. Supports integration of GIS, 3D BIM, CAD and data management systems. Converts data between GIS, CAD and engineering formats
