Inventory Planner

Job description

The role ensures optimal inventory availability, minimizes stock shortages, and enhances inventory control to support revenue generation and customer satisfaction. Manages inventory levels to maintain optimal stock while reducing excess. Monitors, analyzes, and maintains inventory accuracy using ERP systems. Supports parts sales by ensuring timely availability of critical SPM Oil & Gas components. Develops and maintains forecasting and demand planning models to meet business needs. Identifies stock shortages, excess inventory, and supply risks and implements corrective actions. Generates inventory reports and provides recommendations to improve stock control and performance. Coordinates with supply chain, procurement, warehousing, and operational teams for efficient replenishment. Investigates inventory discrepancies and drives root‑cause analysis to prevent recurrence. Ensures compliance with internal control procedures and best practices. Communicates inventory status, risks, and recommendations to key stakeholders. Travels to multiple customer and operational sites as required.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Operations Management, or related field
• minimum 4 years experience in Inventory Planning, Materials Planning, Demand Planning, or similar inventory management role
• proficient with ERP systems, preferably SAP and/or Syteline
• experience in forecasting, demand planning, inventory optimization, and stock control
• strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
• advanced Microsoft Excel and reporting capabilities
• ability to work effectively across multiple stakeholders and functions
• willingness to travel as required
• previous experience in Oil & Gas, Industrial Equipment, Aftermarket Parts, or Energy sectors
• experience managing inventory for high‑value critical spare parts
• knowledge of supply chain planning and inventory management best practices
• understanding of service parts management and distribution operations
• experience supporting multiple operational or customer sites
