Safety Officer

Job description

The Safety Officer role ensures a safe working environment across operations. Conduct regular safety inspections and assessments to identify hazards; implement and oversee safety protocols in compliance with local regulations; assist in developing and delivering safety training programs; investigate incidents to determine root causes and apply corrective actions; maintain records of inspections, incidents, and training sessions; collaborate with management and staff to foster a safety culture; report on safety performance and recommend improvements as needed.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in occupational health and safety or a related field
• minimum of 5 years experience as a Safety Officer
• strong understanding of safety regulations and best practices
• excellent communication and organizational skills
• ability to work independently and as part of a team
• NEBOSH or equivalent certification preferred
• willingness to work on-site and travel if required
• GOSI and Ajeer accounts required
