Job description

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for an Engineering Manager, Automation Intelligence based in Saudi Arabia. Lead the development of an innovative intelligence platform designed to differentiate legitimate AI agents and automated traffic from malicious bots and other online threats. In this role, you will manage a high-impact engineering team responsible for delivering advanced detection capabilities, classification systems, and APIs that help organizations navigate an increasingly automated internet. You will guide the product from beta through general availability and commercial launch, ensuring exceptional detection accuracy, reliability and scalability. Combining strategic leadership with strong technical judgment, you will create quality-driven engineering practices that support an original AI-driven development model powered by coding agents and automated reviews. You will also build a high-performance team with the autonomy to innovate, deliver services independently and continuously improve. This fully remote opportunity provides direct collaboration with engineering leadership and the opportunity to shape a strategically important product and the future of software engineering practice. ### Responsibilities: Product Delivery and Launch Readiness: Own the engineering roadmap from beta to public availability and standalone commercial launch, and partner with product management on requirements, estimates, prioritization, delivery sequence, and launch readiness criteria. Service Reliability and Performance: Definition and validation of service operational limits These capabilities, including throughput, latency, rate limiting, availability goals, and service level objectives (SLOs), ensure the platform meets production requirements. Detection Quality and Accuracy: Establish a continuous detection quality framework using representative test data sets, false positive and false negative tests, regression sets, and monitoring to maintain and improve detection performance. Automation and classification coverage: Directing the detection capabilities of AI agents, assistants, stealth automation, headless browsers, and other emerging frameworks. Develop classification systems to provide detailed context, trust levels, identity verification status, and reason codes. Secure deployment and continuous improvement: Manage phased deployments of detection updates using feature flags, rollback actions, and measurable release criteria. Incorporate customer feedback and reported detection errors into prioritized engineering improvements. Team Leadership and Development: Lead, coach and develop a small team of senior engineers, manage recruitment as the team grows, and create clear ownership, accountability and opportunities for professional growth. Engineering Standards and Operational Excellence: Deliver effective engineering practices, including technical specifications, code review standards, warehouse ownership, and performance standards covering delivery speed, productivity, predictability, failure rates, and recovery time. Cross-team collaboration: Create effective working agreements with neighboring engineering teams, clarify shared responsibilities, and gradually reduce dependencies that prevent independent development and deployment. The original engineering leadership of AI: Lead an agent-first development workflow where AI tools support specifications, coding, review, and security checks, with appropriate human oversight for critical changes. Maintain and improve tools, instructions and review frameworks that enable this approach. Measure and share knowledge: Evaluate the effectiveness of AI-assisted development against established engineering baselines, conduct regular performance reviews, and document lessons learned to inform broader engineering practices. API design and integration standards: Ensure that all product interfaces follow a contract-first approach, with OpenAPI specifications, automatic change detection, generated documentation and SDKs, and APIs that the bot can access for developers and AI agents. Observability and Executive Communication: Service-specific observability through logs, metrics, traces, and service level modules. Clearly communicate engineering progress, technical trade-offs, detection quality, and release readiness to leadership, product partners, and customer-facing teams. ##
