Flight Engineer

Job description

The Flight Engineer is responsible for the technical tasks related to aircraft. Tasks include maintaining aircraft and ensuring the safety of flights.

About this profession: Prepare designs for aircraft construction; ensure the preparedness and good performance of aircrafts, in terms of operation and safety; check the mechanical parts of the aircraft; diagnose the faults; follow up the procedures and activities of maintenance and reparation; and prepare the specialized documents and reports related to work outcomes.

Typical duties of this profession:

• Prepare, and follow up the execution of, the designs and outlines of aviation engineering projects and aircraft construction processes.

• Check the mechanical elements and systems in the aircraft and ancillaries; and ensure the accuracy and safety of performance and that the aircraft is ready for flying.

• Diagnose any faults in the aircraft mechanical components and fitting; follow up the maintenance and reparation programs; and carry out the necessary tests and checks following the reparation.

• Develop the work methods and procedures; and keep up with the technical developments.

• Prepare, present, clarify, and keep on the relevant database, the specialized documents and reports related to engineering projects and works, as well as their progress ratio, as per the adopted policies and procedures.
