Horticulture Inspector

Job description

Responsible for inspecting irrigation installation works, monitoring quality and compliance, and supporting construction activities to ensure all irrigation systems are executed according to project specifications, approved drawings, and industry standards. Plans, designs, and oversees irrigation projects for water distribution to agricultural lands, designs irrigation fixtures and oversees their installation per specifications. Directs subordinate supervisors in constructing dams, canals, and ditches based on soil type, climate, water supply, and other factors. Identifies complex problems, evaluates options, and implements solutions. Manages own time and that of others.

Requirements

• Broad general engineering background
• previous project engineering experience
• proficiency in researching soil drainage and conservation problems applying civil engineering knowledge
• knowledge of laws, legal codes, court procedures, precedents, government regulations, executive orders, organizational rules, and democratic processes
• ability to listen and understand spoken information
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field
• 7+ years of related field engineering experience
• professional registration may be required
• proven ability to perform in a supervisory/leadership role
• thorough knowledge of industry practices and regulations
• proficiency with current technology and ability to select and apply appropriate engineering software for projects
