Pharmacy Technician

Job description

Pharmacy technicians, under the supervision of a pharmacist, inspect incoming merchandise, control inventory, and properly handle and store medications. Where national rules allow, they distribute medicines and advise on their appropriate use.

Typical duties of this profession:

• Study specifications and formulations of medicines, drugs, vaccines, toxins and pharmaceuticals as well as forms and types thereof; implement pharmaceuticals manufacturing plan.

• Determine approved standard quantities; prepare executive program for production of medicines in coordination with supervising pharmacist; prepare materials required for production of solid and the employer medicines according to required quantities.

• Inspect, operate and service devices and tools used in medicines production.

• Follow up production of medicines and pharmaceuticals; take samples of produced medicine, and transport the same to laboratory; conform specifications.

• Prepare, submit, document and archive work’s reports.
