Laboratory Supervisor

Job description

Oversee daily laboratory operations across Sample Preparation, Fire Assay and Wet Chemistry sections. Coordinate laboratory personnel, allocate workload, and provide technical guidance to ensure accurate results, efficient operations and timely delivery in line with the employer standards and ISO/IEC 17025. Responsibilities include supervising sample and reagent preparation, monitoring workflow, supporting instrument maintenance, implementing the Quality Management System, managing inventory and using LIMS for sample tracking and result management.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Geochemistry, Metallurgy or related discipline
• minimum 3 years of relevant experience in a mineral, geochemistry or analytical laboratory
• practical experience in Sample Preparation, Fire Assay and Wet Chemistry operations
• strong hands‑on experience in Wet Chemistry including sample digestion, reagent preparation and dilutions
• experience operating analytical instruments such as AAS, ICP, UV and XRF
• experience using LIMS for sample tracking and result management
• good understanding of laboratory workflows, analytical techniques and quality‑control procedures
• ability to perform equipment calibration/verification and maintain documentation
• knowledge of ISO/IEC 17025 laboratory quality requirements
• proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
• good written and spoken English
• strong organizational, supervisory, problem‑solving and communication skills
• ability to prioritize multiple activities, coordinate resources and work under pressure
• commitment to quality, safety, ethics and integrity.
