HSEW Officer - Bridges Project

Job description

Responsible for promoting and maintaining a safe, healthy, and environmentally compliant workplace. The role involves implementing HSEW policies, monitoring daily site activities, conducting routine inspections, identifying hazards, and ensuring compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements. Duties include accident investigation reporting, delivering safety inductions and toolbox talks, monitoring contractor compliance, maintaining records, coordinating emergency drills, overseeing environmental aspects, and promoting employee wellbeing initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related discipline
• minimum 10 years of HSE experience in construction, infrastructure, industrial, or engineering projects
• professional certifications such as NEBOSH IGC, IOSH Managing Safely, OSHA, or equivalent preferred
• strong knowledge of HSE legislation, regulations, and international best practices
• experience conducting risk assessments, incident investigations, and safety audits
• familiarity with permit-to-work systems and emergency response procedures
• excellent communication, reporting, and interpersonal skills
• ability to conduct safety training and toolbox talks effectively
• strong observation, problem‑solving, and analytical skills
• proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and HSE reporting systems
• ability to work independently and collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams
• fluency in English
• Arabic language skills an advantage for Middle East projects
