Safety, Health and Environment Specialist

Job description

The specialist manages all HSSE aspects on projects. Ensures the availability and adequacy of HSE provisions for consultants and contractors as per policies and contracts. Measures HSE performance of consultants and contractors and advises improvement actions. Investigates accident causes and recommends preventive measures. Records and follows up safety hazards and non‑conformities with regulators. Coordinates with the PMC Project Manager to implement effective HSE systems on sites. Liaises with the Employer, the employer and local authorities to ensure compliance with HSE requirements. Trains and inducts staff on HSE and reviews contractors’ HSE documents for suitability. Conducts scheduled and unscheduled HSE audits and inspections and reports non‑conformities for corrective action. Keeps informed of the employer’s Quality, Environmental, Safety and Occupational Health policies and ensures compliance. Performs other duties assigned by the line manager. Requires an engineering degree or equivalent experience and relevant international certifications. Minimum 10 years experience in large‑scale projects. Extensive knowledge of national and international HSSE laws, regulations and industry standards
