Assistant Chief Steward

Job description

We are looking for an Assistant Chief Steward to join our team at voco Riyadh. Your role will be to assist the Chief Steward in managing the daily operations of the Stewarding department. You will supervise the Stewarding team and coordinate them to ensure smooth and efficient operations. You will be responsible for ensuring that all kitchens, back of house areas, equipment, and utensils are maintained to the required standards of cleanliness and hygiene. You will monitor the cleaning and sanitizing of kitchen equipment, dishes, and utensils. You will ensure the proper handling, storage, and maintenance of chemicals and cleaning equipment. You will conduct regular inspections of kitchens, stewarding areas, garbage rooms, and back of house facilities. You will ensure compliance with the employer/voco brand standards, HACCP, and food safety and health and hygiene requirements. You will assist in controlling stewarding supplies, chemicals, equipment, and operational stock. You will monitor waste separation and disposal procedures. You will prepare task lists and assign daily tasks to Stewarding colleagues as needed. You will train and guide Stewarding colleagues on cleaning procedures, hygiene standards, and safe work practices. You will ensure that all colleagues follow proper health, safety, and personal hygiene standards. You will coordinate with culinary, food and beverage, engineering, and other departments to resolve operational issues. You will report equipment faults, maintenance requirements, and safety concerns to the Chief Steward. You will assist in maintaining accurate records, checklists, and cleaning schedules. You will support the Chief Steward during internal and external audits, food safety, and brand standard inspections. You will ensure adequate supervisory coverage during operations, events, and busy periods. You will promote teamwork, discipline, and a positive work environment within the department
