Static Equipment Mechanical Engineer - SME

Job description

The Static Equipment Mechanical Engineer - SME provides technical expertise during Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM), FMEA/FMECA, and reliability studies for static equipment. The role identifies equipment functions, degradation mechanisms, credible failure modes, and risk mitigation measures and maintenance strategies to ensure asset integrity, safety, and regulatory compliance. Acts as the technical authority in RCM, FMEA, and RBI workshops, defines performance standards and functional failures, evaluates failure consequences on safety, environment, and production, and reviews historical inspection data, NDT reports, and corrosion records. Recommends appropriate maintenance and inspection strategies including Risk-Based Inspection (RBI), Preventive Maintenance (PM), Condition-Based Maintenance (CBM), and Run-to-Failure where applicable. Assesses inspection frequencies and task intervals based on risk and degradation rates, reviews compliance with API and ASME standards, supports Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA), and proposes equipment upgrades and life‑extension measures
