Manager - Financial Operations

Job description

Lead and manage the full accounts receivable and billing lifecycle within the Utilities Finance department. Ensure accurate and timely invoicing, revenue recognition, and effective collections to optimize cash flow. Drive process improvements, implement automation initiatives, and maintain strict compliance with regulatory requirements and internal controls.

Requirements

• knowledge of collaborating with operations to ensure consumption data accuracy
• experience generating and submitting final bills to clients
• proficient in reconciling payments and closing invoices in SAP ERP
• knowledge of collections and credit risk management
• proficient in monitoring aging reports and identifying delinquent accounts
• experience negotiating payment arrangements
• proficient in escalating unresolved cases
• knowledge of defining optimal credit policies
• proficient in maintaining robust internal controls and regulatory compliance for utilities
• experience supporting internal and external audits
• knowledge of implementing policies to safeguard receivables
• proficient in preparing and presenting AR KPIs
• experience providing actionable insights to senior leadership
• proficient in identifying process inefficiencies and recommending improvements
• experience driving automation initiatives
• proficient in optimizing billing and collections systems
• analytical skills with Excel and data visualization tools
• knowledge of GAAP, receivables controls, and regulatory requirements
• proficiency with ERP systems SAP and Oracle
• proficiency with CRM systems
• 8+ years experience in AR, billing, credit or collections
• minimum 3-5 years in a managerial role
• strong team building and mentoring abilities
