Rolling Stock Technician

Job description

Assist the Rolling Stock Team Leader with preventive and corrective maintenance on passenger service vehicles, engineering support vehicles, shunting vehicles, and locomotives. Conduct routine inspections, examine parts for surface defects, replace consumables, perform minor repairs, and carry out technical cleaning. Perform time‑sensitive fault diagnostics and component replacement on site or in depot. Follow Permit to Work and LOTO procedures, handle shift and emergency duties, operate the under‑floor wheel lathe, and adhere to strict maintenance schedules.

Requirements

• Over three years of experience in the railway industry
• robust mechanical mindset and understanding of rolling stock mechanisms
• experience operating an under‑floor wheel lathe preferred
• strong organizational and detail‑oriented skills
• ability to manage multiple priorities
• prior shunting or engineering vehicle/locomotive operation advantageous
• diploma in electrical or mechanical engineering or equivalent
