Service Reliability Technician

Job description

The Service Reliability Technician supports the Customer Reliability Engineer on site and is responsible for refurbishing mechanical seals and related activities in a professional seal repair environment. Performs daily equipment inspections to identify reliability, safety and environmental issues, supports the reliability engineer in failure reporting and root cause analysis, identifies and recommends training needs for maintenance and operations, dismantles and cleans mechanical seals and parts under repair, inspects seals and cartridges, prepares parts breakdown according to seal repair SOP, assembles and repairs seals and cartridges per John Crane drawings and specifications, tests seals and cartridges per John Crane procedures, manages local seal spare inventory, ensures quality and safety in tasks, exercises due diligence for health and safety of self and others, complies with QHSE instructions, requirements, laws and regulations, knowledge of seal failure modes is an advantage.

Requirements

• Diploma or university degree in Engineering or relevant technical qualification
• 3+ years of professional experience in a proactive multinational and multicultural environment
• ability to understand component and assembly drawings
• knowledge of rotating equipment operational principles and troubleshooting
• API knowledge
• proficient in MS Office
• SAP knowledge is an advantage
• excellent written and verbal business communication
• knowledge of labor reporting, work order variances, SAP or equivalent ERP systems
• mining industry knowledge is an advantage
• English language
• Arabic speaking is an advantage
