Category Specialist

Job description

You will work as a Category Specialist at the employer in Dammam. Implement supply chain strategies and processes, and follow up in factories to ensure material availability, delivery performance, and cost competitiveness. Lead procurement for defined material groups to achieve timely availability, cost savings, quality, and service level targets. Support development and implementation of regional and global policies and manage supplier performance to secure quality, delivery, cost, and sustainability.

Requirements

• proficiency in supply chain risk management
• knowledge of supplier base management and quality
• experience designing and implementing local sourcing plans
• proficiency in developing sourcing concepts including make‑or‑buy analysis and cost scenarios
• knowledge of contract management and adapting corporate frameworks to local needs
• experience supporting bid teams with market information
• proficiency in strategic sourcing activities and monitoring global SCM KPIs
• proficiency in Continuous Improvement Process Sourcing (CIPS)
• proficiency in supplier performance evaluation and cost target achievement
• proficiency in supplier relationship management and ensuring on‑time delivery and quality
• proficiency in collaborating with internal stakeholders such as engineering and planning
• proficiency in applying health, safety, environment, and business ethics standards
• proficiency in complying with external and internal regulations
• proficiency in the employer’s core values of safety and integrity
• proficiency in spoken and written English
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Economics, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management or equivalent
• minimum 10 years of experience in engineering, purchasing, or supply chain management
• strong communication and influencing skills
• ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently
• preferred certifications: CPSM or PMP
• preferred experience with SAP, Documentation Management Systems, Power BI, and Microsoft Office
