Monitoring Engineer / Jira Admin

Job description

We are looking for a Monitoring Engineer / Jira Admin to own the operational monitoring and observability ecosystem, including dashboards, alerts, event correlation, SLA reporting, and Jira administration, ensuring operational teams can proactively identify and manage production issues. Responsibilities include administering and maintaining AppDynamics, GCP Cloud Monitoring, Grafana, Elastic/Kibana and related tools; building and maintaining dashboards for application availability, infrastructure health, API performance, business transactions and database health; configuring and tuning thresholds and alerts; reducing alert noise and improving actionable alerts; correlating logs, metrics and application events during incidents; identifying monitoring gaps and recommending instrumentation; developing SLA and performance dashboards; producing availability, incident and monitoring reports; administering Jira workflows for the Operations team; configuring Jira queues, SLAs, workflows, notifications, dashboards and reports; supporting automation of ticket creation and operational workflows; routing alerts to the appropriate teams; supporting major incident investigations with observability data; maintaining monitoring standards and documentation; continuously improving proactive incident detection.

Requirements

• 2+ years experience in monitoring, observability, application support or IT operations
• Jira administration certification advantageous
• AppDynamics or observability certification preferred
• proficiency with AppDynamics
• proficiency with GCP Cloud Monitoring
• proficiency with Grafana
• proficiency with Elastic/Kibana
• knowledge of Application Performance Monitoring
• experience with log analysis and correlation
• understanding of metrics and observability concepts
• experience configuring alerts
• experience tuning thresholds
• experience creating dashboards
• experience monitoring SLA/SLO
• proficiency in Jira/Jira Service Management administration
• proficiency in Jira workflows and queues
• proficiency in Jira automation
• proficiency in operational reporting
• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent
• ITIL Foundation preferred
