Cloud Support Engineer

Job description

The Cloud Support Engineer role provides day-to-day operational support, monitoring, and troubleshooting of GCP infrastructure supporting production services. Ensures cloud services remain available, secure, properly configured, and recoverable. Responsibilities: monitor and support GCP production infrastructure including Compute Engine, Cloud Storage, IAM, VPC, load balancers and related services; perform daily health checks across cloud infrastructure; investigate incidents and service degradation; troubleshoot connectivity, VM, storage, IAM, firewall, networking and resource utilization issues; review Cloud Logging and Cloud Monitoring alerts and logs; execute approved runbooks and recovery procedures; support incident resolution and participate in root-cause analysis; coordinate with application, database, network, security and cloud engineering teams during incidents; support backup, recovery, capacity and availability activities; maintain operational documentation and troubleshooting procedures; escalate defects or infrastructure changes requiring engineering intervention; support production changes and perform post-change validation.

• knowledge of firewall rules and routing fundamentals
• knowledge of load balancers
• knowledge of Cloud Logging
• knowledge of Cloud Monitoring
• proficient with gcloud CLI
• knowledge of Linux administration fundamentals
• basic scripting/automation skills
• incident troubleshooting experience
• understanding of backup and recovery concepts
• Google Associate Cloud Engineer certification preferred
• ITIL Foundation certification advantageous
• bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering or equivalent.
