Appian QA & Automation Engineer

Job description

the employer is seeking an Appian QA & Automation Engineer to work onsite in Riyadh. The role owns quality for Appian applications at a leading Saudi bank, defining test strategies and building automation to enable frequent releases without regressions in critical banking workflows. Key responsibilities include defining functional, integration, regression, UAT, performance and security testing strategies; building and maintaining UI automation using Appian Selenium API, FitNesse or Cucumber‑based frameworks; automating API and integration tests with Karate, REST Assured or Postman/Newman; embedding automated tests in CI/CD pipelines with quality gates; executing performance and load testing with JMeter, Gatling or Appian tools; validating role‑based access, maker‑checker controls, data masking and audit logs; managing test data and environments compliant with PDPL; leading UAT with business users, tracking defects to closure and reporting quality metrics to delivery leadership. Requires 10+ years total experience, including 6+ years hands‑on Appian development, Appian Certified Senior Developer, and a 1‑month notice or immediate availability

• strong analytical, troubleshooting and communication skills
• UI automation using Appian Selenium API, FitNesse or Cucumber
• API automation with Karate, REST Assured or Postman/Newman
• CI/CD integration with quality gates
• performance and load testing with JMeter, Gatling or Appian tools
• security testing knowledge
• UAT leadership and defect tracking
• experience with Appian AI features (AI Skills, document extraction, AI Copilot)
• experience with Appian component plug‑ins (React/JavaScript)
• familiarity with Figma
• customer‑facing portal experience in banking
