About the Role the employer is looking for a Mechanical Technician to join their team in Makkah, with work locations including Jeddah and Makkah. This full-time role involves the safe installation, maintenance, inspection and repair of heavy rotating machinery, primarily within power generation applications. The position requires 2-5 years of relevant experience. Purpose of the role The primary responsibility of the Mechanical Technician, specializing in steam and gas, is to ensure the safe and efficient operation of vital machinery. This role works closely with supervisors, HSE staff and operations management to achieve operational objectives and maintain high safety standards. Key Responsibilities Read schematic drawings and technical documentation to determine appropriate work procedures. Disassemble and assemble machinery and equipment using a variety of hand, electric, pneumatic and hydraulic tools. Move machinery, parts and equipment using cranes, hoists, chain falls and trucks. Align machinery and equipment using levers, squares, micrometers, dial indicators, or based on the recommendations of laser alignment equipment professionals. Perform inspections of machinery and components using precision measuring equipment such as micrometers, rules, and calipers. Manage control of tools, equipment and supplies. Perform other assigned duties as required. Experience Required A minimum of 2 to 5 years experience in a related mechanical technician role, preferably with heavy rotating machinery in power generation. Internal and External Relationships Internally, the Mechanical Technician will collaborate closely with MD Service outage irrigation, field service engineers and supervisors. Externally, the role requires building rapport with plant crews and contractors to ensure smooth operations and effective communication.
