Fire Assay Technician

Job description

Responsible for the quality and quantity of samples during Fire Assay analysis. Understand and safely perform Fire Assay procedures. Maintain lead fusion equipment daily. Submit a quality sample of silver beads to the Wet Chem Laboratory. Ensure PPE is worn and hygiene procedures are followed. Actively participate in shift activities to meet customer needs. Report necessary maintenance work and keep the work area clean. Follow all analytical methods as instructed. Contribute to proper record keeping and document control. Inform management of any laboratory issues or low inventory, attend required training, and maintain good relationships with clients and authorities.

Requirements

• Minimum high school diploma or equivalent
• at least one year of experience in a similar position
• ability to work with minimal supervision
• knowledge of lead fusion methods and sample type identification
• knowledge of sample preparation and Wet Chem procedures
• ability to perform all lead fusion operations
• English proficiency
