Mechanical Technician

Job description

The role focuses on inspection, maintenance, repair, and operation of mechanical equipment and systems throughout the hotel. Responsibilities include performing routine inspections and preventive maintenance, maintaining pumps, motors, valves, compressors, and water systems, diagnosing faults and carrying out corrective maintenance, responding to maintenance requests from guest areas and hotel departments, inspecting plant rooms and mechanical areas, following preventive maintenance schedules and completing work orders accurately and on time, assisting with installation, testing, and commissioning of mechanical equipment, monitoring equipment performance and reporting abnormalities, adhering to safety procedures, hotel standards, and regulations, keeping tools and work areas clean and organized, maintaining accurate maintenance records, supporting engineering team members, contributing to energy conservation and sustainability initiatives, handling spare parts and materials properly, responding to emergency maintenance situations, and performing other duties assigned by engineering management

Requirements

• Technical diploma or vocational qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Maintenance, or related field
• previous experience as a Mechanical Technician or in a similar mechanical maintenance role
• good knowledge of mechanical systems, pumps, motors, valves, and associated equipment
• understanding of preventive and corrective maintenance practices
• basic knowledge of workplace health and safety requirements
• ability to work flexible hours including weekends, holidays, and shifts
• good troubleshooting and fault-finding abilities
• knowledge of mechanical tools and maintenance equipment
• strong attention to detail and accuracy
• good problem‑solving skills
• good time management and prioritization abilities
• ability to follow technical instructions and safety procedures
• good organizational and record‑keeping skills
• ability to respond effectively to maintenance emergencies
