Specialist, Chemical Lab

Job description

The specialist ensures materials meet standards and tests are performed according to standard operating procedures. Monitors the BCL stability program and conducts testing when required. Monitors chemical stock used in analysis and informs the lab supervisor of needed chemicals. Prepares and tests samples from all manufacturing phases to verify compliance. Prepares documentation and technical reports for tests and any adverse events. Performs tests following approved procedures. May handle instrument troubleshooting, calibration and repair as needed. Supports local and external audit programs and passes audits without major human‑factor observations. Contributes to qualification protocols and SOP preparation and updates. Applies good documentation practice. Assists supervisor in out‑of‑limit investigations and completes them. Manages inventory and requests for lab reagents and consumables.

Requirements

• Bachelor degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or equivalent
• two years or more relevant experience in pharmaceuticals or related industries
• knowledge of preparing technical documentation and reports
• proficient in performing tests according to SOPs
• ability to handle QC instruments and troubleshoot them
• experience supporting internal and external audit programs
• familiarity with developing and updating SOPs
• good documentation practice
• experience in out‑of‑limit investigations
• knowledge of inventory management for reagents and consumables
