Senior Systems Engineer

Job description

The role involves preparing rules and procedures for operations, CBTC systems and regulation. Managing requirements including refinement and traceability. Monitoring system performance and analyzing design options and specifications. Developing safety/operational concepts. Leading operational and maintenance design reviews of SCADA, MMIS and related subsystems, especially reviewing SCADA design submitted by the Design & Build contractor. Creating test cases for commissioning and acceptance of the SCADA system. Reviewing and approving the operational safety case. Reviewing OCC layout according to task analysis. Verifying contracts and specifications to ensure they meet requirements. Reviewing Factory Acceptance Test procedures and plans for contract compliance. Meeting with design‑build contractors and suppliers to ensure compliance and scope alignment. Facilitating and participating in the Factory Acceptance Test of the SCADA system. Preparing reports, information requests and client clarification letters. Using EDMS (Aconex, PCM) for document control and submittals. Assisting other systems team members on subsystems interfacing with SCADA. Contributing to the Emergency Response Plan. Training junior engineers (Saudi nationals).

Requirements

• Operation Control Center experience
• Rail/Metro industry background
• Knowledge of rail systems, ERTMS, Asset Protection, Systems Engineering, Operations development and SCADA
• Understanding of maintenance concepts and RAMS requirements
• Chartered Engineer
• Minimum 12 years experience in Metro Control Center operations
• Extensive experience in Operations and Maintenance
• Large project experience as Systems Engineer
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Working knowledge of CBTC, MMIS, SCADA and Networking functions
