Heavy Equipment Trainer / Assessor

Job description

The role involves development, implementation, reporting and analysis of all assigned certifications. The candidate will be part of the Certification Team and ensure that written and performance sections of certifications are developed and maintained for rigging, crane operation and heavy equipment operation (including backhoe, bulldozer, forklift, grader, wheel loader, skid loader, backhoe loader, sideboom telehandler, etc.). Key responsibilities: conduct assessments to verify operator competency covering heavy equipment, crane and rigger assessments; assist in developing written and practical assessments in the area of expertise; ensure all assessments are completed efficiently and professionally; complete analysis of all assessments; take on mentoring responsibilities as required; assist with QA audits; contribute to policy and procedural reviews and development; uphold the company’s Heavy Equipment Certifications Unit policy

Requirements

• Strong knowledge of safety regulations and operational procedures related to heavy equipment
• Proficiency in Excel
• Minimum of 5 years of experience operating heavy equipment
• Proven experience in training or assessment roles, preferably in the heavy equipment or construction industry
• Experience in training areas such as backhoe, bulldozer, forklift, wheel loader, cranes, etc
• Valid certifications and licenses for operating heavy machinery
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
• Ability to evaluate and provide constructive feedback to trainees
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
