Cybersecurity Specialist

Job description

Manage cybersecurity operations for project information systems and business applications, including account administration, eDiscovery, incident response, policy compliance, and security technology implementation. Serve as the primary technical contact with vendors to develop cybersecurity solutions and provide recommendations to project management. Develop, maintain, and audit technical and analytical aspects of cybersecurity systems and controls. Ensure confidentiality, integrity, and availability of workstations, servers, applications, and networks through account management, system hardening, and software updates. Support secure operation of security technologies and protect sensitive information using best practices and cryptographic principles. Identify, assess, and mitigate cybersecurity threats and vulnerabilities. Provide support, guidance, training, and incident recovery assistance to end users and project teams. Lead and support investigations of cybersecurity incidents and contribute to improvement initiatives. Conduct vulnerability assessments and oversee implementation of security controls. Represent cybersecurity on project teams, technical reviews, and internal committees. Provide oversight and guidance to infrastructure and client/server teams on cybersecurity requirements, standards, and procedures. Monitor cybersecurity risks and recommend corrective and preventive actions. Support compliance with project, client, and regulatory cybersecurity requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related discipline
• minimum 15 years progressive experience in cybersecurity, information security, IT infrastructure, or related technology environments
• strong experience in cybersecurity operations, incident response, vulnerability management, and security administration
• knowledge of network technologies including MPLS, VPN, and wireless networking
• experience with domain structures, identity management, and user authentication systems
• familiarity with NIST SP 800-53 and related cybersecurity frameworks and standards
• ability to evaluate existing security controls and develop remediation plans
• strong analytical skills to investigate security incidents and recommend effective solutions
• excellent written and verbal communication skills for presenting technical information to technical and non-technical audiences
• ability to collaborate with clients, vendors, project stakeholders, and multidisciplinary teams
• Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certification
• knowledge of cybersecurity governance, risk management, and compliance practices
• experience with cybersecurity technologies, security monitoring tools, and enterprise security solutions
