the employer is seeking an experienced Technical Design Manager to join its team in Riyadh. In this role, you will develop, manage, and coordinate the design and technical delivery of design packages across multidisciplinary projects, ensuring quality, compliance, and timely delivery in line with client expectations and project goals. Responsibilities include managing and coordinating the execution of design deliverables across multiple projects · Overseeing the preparation of designs and technical documentation including drawings, reports, and tender packages · Supporting managers in developing and implementing resource plans · Reviewing and approving discipline staffing budget estimates and assignment schedules · Maintaining appropriate staffing levels, including temporary personnel · Monitoring the quality and progress of the discipline on each project to satisfy production requirements · Establishing standards and procedures manuals for the discipline and recommending department improvements · Recruiting, interviewing, evaluating prospective employees, offering personnel development, conducting performance evaluations, counseling employees, and taking corrective actions · Ensuring new employees receive orientation on company policies and procedures · Operating within authorized overhead budgets for the discipline · Actively participating in and promoting the Quality Improvement Program and potentially heading discipline committees · Participating in design reviews, value engineering workshops, and technical and safety coordination meetings · Ensuring compliance of designs with applicable codes, standards, and client requirements · Monitoring progress and performance of the design team against schedule, cost, and quality metrics · Collaborating with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure integrated design solutions · Supporting the resolution of technical challenges during design development · Promoting digital engineering workflows and quality assurance processes · Assisting with internal knowledge sharing, mentoring, and development of standard policies and procedures · Performing any other responsibilities associated with the role · Attending all design meetings to actively contribute, propose effective design solutions, and validate Minutes of Meetings · Presenting proposed solutions across relevant disciplines to ensure alignment and integration · Facilitating clear and consistent communication with all project stakeholders to gather necessary information and implement robust technical solutions.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Electrical, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline
• Over 20 years of experience in design, including 10 years in technical coordination roles for site infrastructure and landscape projects
• Proven experience managing multidisciplinary design teams in large-scale projects
• Strong understanding of relevant codes, standards, and regulatory frameworks
• Excellent communication, presentation, and collaboration skills with cross-functional teams
• Ability to manage multiple design packages and deliverables simultaneously
• Proficient in design and document control tools (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, BIM360, etc.)
• Working knowledge of digital design tools and platforms such as BIM, Navisworks, or similar
• Previous experience working on infrastructure or large-scale projects in the Middle East
• Understanding project controls including cost, risk, and schedule integration
• Experience working with government or semi-government clients
• KSA Driving License
• Professional certifications (e.g., PMP, RICS, PE, or equivalent) would be an advantage.
