SENIOR RESIDENT CONSTRUCTION ENGINEER

Job description

At the employer, we are looking for a highly talented Senior Resident Construction Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will ensure that contractors and subcontractors perform in accordance with safety, quality, contractual, and technical requirements while maintaining project schedules, budgets, and risk controls. You will provide leadership to the project team, act as a key client interface, and oversee project activities throughout the full project life cycle to achieve successful completion and operational handover. You will be responsible for monitoring contractor performance and ensuring project goals are met, providing project management guidance, and developing working relationships with subcontractors and contractors. You will review shop drawings, technical and contractual clarifications submitted by contractors, and approve their monthly invoices and progress reports. You will be responsible for proactively detecting potential problems in contractor performance and resolving issues with contractors, other departments, and stakeholders to determine the best options for resolution. You will coordinate project activities with design, engineering, procurement, operations, end-users, and other client departments to resolve technical issues and manage construction interfaces.

Requirements

• Minimum 10 years of construction experience, of which at least 5 years must be direct Project Management or Construction Management responsibility on a variety of significant Construction/Infrastructure Projects, Bachelor’s Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering or relevant field from a Western University, Professional membership or recognized professional/project management certification is desirable, Fluent in English — oral and written, is mandatory
• 5 years' international industry exposure desirable, Fluent in Arabic — oral and written, is desirable.
