Construction Manager - Commercial Zone

Job description

The Construction Manager (Commercial) oversees planning, coordination, and execution of commercial works such as offices, retail, F&B, leisure, and podiums within a large mixed‑use development. Operating in a PMC capacity, the role manages multiple contractors and ensures compliance with design intent, codes, contracts, safety, quality, schedule, and cost objectives for the client. Responsibilities include coordinating with design consultants, conducting constructability reviews, assessing risks, daily site management, progress monitoring, leading coordination meetings, logistics management, QA/QC oversight, reviewing method statements and shop drawings, coordinating inspections, managing snagging, supporting budget control, reviewing payment applications and variations, enforcing HSE policies, acting as client’s PMC interface, preparing progress reports, overseeing testing and commissioning, and providing performance recommendations.

Requirements

• Proven experience working in a PMC environment
• Building construction techniques (RC, steel, façade)
• Commercial interiors and retail fit‑out coordination
• MEP systems relevant to commercial developments
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management capabilities
• High level of technical problem‑solving and decision‑making
• Commitment to safety, quality, and ethical project delivery
• Review and provide input on master construction schedules, phasing plans, and milestones for commercial components
• Ensure documentation completeness: As‑built drawings, Operation & Maintenance manuals, Test certificates, warranties, and statutory approvals
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
• Typically 18 years of experience in construction management, with at least years on large mixed‑use/commercial real estate projects
• Familiarity with local building regulations, fire codes, and authority approval processes
• Strong leadership and team management skills on multidisciplinary, multi‑contractor sites
• Ability to manage multiple work fronts and prioritize under time and cost constraints
• Strong reporting and documentation skills with attention to detail
