Azure Cloud Engineer

Job description

The role involves designing, deploying and managing Azure cloud infrastructure to ensure scalability, security and application performance. Collaborate with teams to facilitate migration of services to Azure and optimize the cloud environment for efficiency and cost-effectiveness. Manage Azure virtual machines, configure networking, administer storage, manage Azure Active Directory / Microsoft Entra ID, optimize costs (FinOps) and monitor budgets, configure Azure Monitor and track performance, administer Microsoft Defender for Cloud, set up backups and daily monitoring, execute quarterly disaster recovery testing, manage Azure and on‑premises backup solutions, report on RTO and RPO, oversee Microsoft 365 backup processes, design Azure solutions following best practices, automate deployments using Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or ARM templates, integrate on‑premises infrastructure with Azure services for hybrid solutions, ensure compliance and security governance, maintain architecture diagrams and operational documentation, collaborate with development teams to streamline operations and application delivery, and troubleshoot Azure service issues

Requirements

• Experience with scripting and automation using PowerShell, Azure CLI, or other automation tools
• Experience with DevOps practices and tools
• Knowledge of containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes
• Experience with monitoring tools
• Excel
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
• 3+ years experience in cloud engineering or architecture with focus on Microsoft Azure
• Strong understanding of Azure services and tools including Azure Virtual Machines, Azure Functions, and Azure App Services
• Familiarity with networking concepts and security principles in cloud environments
• Excellent problem‑solving skills and attention to detail
