Google Cloud Application Modernization Specialist

Job description

Müller’s Solutions is seeking a Google Cloud Application Modernization Specialist to lead application modernization initiatives. You will work closely with clients to assess their existing applications and transform them into modern, cloud-native solutions using Google Cloud technologies. Responsibilities include evaluating existing architectures and identifying modernization opportunities with GCP services; designing and implementing cloud-native architectures to improve performance and scalability; guiding clients through migration with best practices to minimize downtime; collaborating with development teams to refactor and containerize applications for deployment on Google Kubernetes Engine or App Engine; facilitating workshops and training on cloud technologies and modernization strategies; assessing and implementing DevOps and CI/CD pipelines; monitoring and optimizing modernized applications for performance, security, and compliance; documenting processes, architectures, and lessons learned; and staying current with industry trends and Google Cloud advancements

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
• 5+ years experience in application development, architecture, or modernization with strong focus on Google Cloud Platform
• proven experience with microservices architecture, containerization, and orchestration technologies like Kubernetes
• strong understanding of Google Cloud services for application development such as Cloud Run, Cloud Functions, and BigQuery
• experience with Java, Python, or Go for cloud-native development
• solid knowledge of DevOps practices and CI/CD tools
• excellent communication skills to guide and influence clients and technical teams
• strong problem-solving abilities and passion for technology and innovation
• Google Cloud certifications (e.g., Professional Cloud Architect or Professional Application Developer) a plus
• experience with legacy application modernization and migration strategies
• familiarity with Agile methodologies
• previous experience working directly with clients in consulting or customer-facing roles.
