Director of Data Platforms & Intelligence

Job description

The Director of Data Platforms & Intelligence owns and aligns end‑to‑end data platform strategy with product, engineering and commercial goals. Architects scalable batch and streaming pipelines, real‑time analytics, ML enablement and multi‑tenant access on GCP (BigQuery, ClickHouse, Airflow, DBT, ML Ops). Ensures platform resilience during traffic spikes and major events. Implements full data observability (freshness, anomalies, schema drift, SLAs/SLOs) and treats incidents with production‑grade severity, delivering trusted always‑on data for real‑time ops and BI. Leads executive dashboards, KPI frameworks, forecasting and operational metrics, enabling self‑service analytics through governed semantic layers. Partners with Product, Marketing, Commercial and Operations for proactive insights. Designs data‑as‑a‑product roadmap and builds promoter dashboards covering live entry, capacity, forecasting, demand analysis, audience insights, market benchmarks and queue intelligence. Works with Commercial on pricing, packaging and go‑to‑market. Builds data foundations for AI and ML models, supports recommendation systems, conversational UX, forecasting and anomaly detection, and operationalises models with monitoring and retraining. Defines data access, retention and protection policies, ensuring PDPL and GDPR compliance with CISO and DPO. Leads Data Engineering, Analytics, BI and Data Operations teams, defines org structure, hiring plans and career ladders, and serves as a core member of the Technology Leadership Team

Requirements

• Proven experience building enterprise‑grade data platforms
• Experience commercialising external data or intelligence products
• Strong AI, ML Ops, KPI and executive reporting expertise
• Strong understanding of PDPL and GDPR
• Excellent executive communication and influence
• Deep knowledge of modern stacks (GCP, BigQuery/Snowflake/ClickHouse, streaming, BI tools)
• Experience in ticketing, events, travel, marketplaces or entertainment tech
• Experience with multi‑tenant data products
• 15+ years in data engineering, analytics, BI, architecture or data leadership
