Senior Manager - Development Financial Planning and Analysis

Job description

The role supports financial oversight and performance management of the employer’s development portfolio. Responsibilities include financial monitoring of development projects, variance analysis, risk tracking, management reporting, and aligning project controls with accounting systems. Prepare high‑quality management reports, budget submissions, variance analyses, and project financial reviews, providing actionable insights to senior finance leadership. Work with cross‑functional teams to ensure financial discipline, data integrity, and continuous process improvement. Support financial oversight of capital development projects, ensuring alignment with approved budgets, schedules, and scope. Prepare and consolidate management packs, executive summaries, and budget submissions for senior director review. Analyze financial performance, identify key variances, and recommend actions. Manage monthly reconciliation between project and accounting systems, ensuring data accuracy and timely issue resolution. Review Primavera P6 schedule updates and assess financial impact of risks, delays, and scope changes. Develop and maintain financial models and scenario analyses for forecasting and planning. Standardize reporting templates, KPIs, dashboards, and action trackers across projects. Collaborate with Accounting, Treasury, Project Controls, and other FP&A teams to ensure process alignment and data consistency. Contribute to automation and reporting enhancement initiatives within the Development FP&A function. Support internal governance processes related to budget control, forecasting discipline, and financial transparency. Provide guidance and coaching to analysts to promote accuracy, accountability, and continuous improvement

Requirements

• Accounting
• Process improvement
• 10+ years of total experience in Finance
• Experience in Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) within a real estate development environment
• Experience in development, construction, infrastructure, real estate, or large capital project environments
• Experience working within large, complex organizations
• Background in Big 4 or Tier 1 consulting is advantageous
