Painter & Wood Polishing Technician

Job description

The role involves applying paint, stain and finishes to walls, ceilings and furniture using brushes, spray guns or rollers. Preparing surfaces with primers or sealers, removing old finishes by stripping, sanding, burning or abrasive blasting. Covering surfaces with protective material during painting, cleaning and storing tools properly. Coordinating with vendors to modify paint, stain or varnish colors. Following company policies and safety procedures, reporting maintenance issues, hazards or incidents, and completing safety training. Maintaining a clean professional appearance, protecting confidential information and company assets. Greeting guests per company standards, addressing their needs, assisting persons with disabilities and expressing genuine appreciation. Communicating clearly and professionally, supporting the team to achieve goals, and ensuring quality standards. Able to reach overhead and below knee level, bend, twist, pull, stoop, work on ladders, lift and carry objects up to 50 lb, and stand, sit or walk for extended periods. Performing additional duties as assigned by supervisors.

Requirements

• Technical or vocational school degree
• at least 1 year related work experience
• no supervisory experience required
• no license or certification required
• proficient in applying paints and stains
• experienced in removing old finishes
• knowledge of safety policies and procedures
• proficient in professional communication
• able to lift up to 50 pounds
• capable of ladder work and bending, twisting, and lifting
• adherence to professional appearance and confidentiality.
