Hair Stylist/Barber

Job description

Provide hair care services such as cut/design, color, and styling to guests. Shampoo, condition, and rinse guests' hair. Examine skin, hair, or nails to assess condition, appearance, and suitability of scheduled service. Advise guests on proper care and recommend home care regimens. Promote and sell spa/salon services and retail products. Escort guests to and from treatment rooms. Set up workstation or treatment room with necessary products, equipment, and supplies for guest comfort and safety. Clean, maintain, and sterilize tools. Follow daily schedule. Handle inappropriate guest behavior by stopping service and informing supervisor. Maintain current licensure. Report accidents, injuries, and unsafe conditions to manager. Follow company policies, maintain professional appearance, protect confidentiality and assets. Welcome guests per company standards, anticipate needs, assist individuals with disabilities, and thank guests sincerely. Communicate clearly and professionally. Develop positive working relationships, support team goals, and respond to employee concerns. Comply with quality standards. Stand, sit, or walk for extended periods. Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects up to 10 pounds without assistance. Perform other reasonable duties as requested by supervisors.

Requirements

• Technical, trade, or vocational school degree
• at least 1 year of related work experience
• no supervisory experience
• no license or certification required
