Spa Therapist

Job description

Provide massage services to guests using props or products. Deliver body treatments such as scrubs, wraps, or hydrotherapy. Assess guest needs and check for contraindications like allergies, high blood pressure, or pregnancy before service. Stay updated with current techniques and modalities. Escort guests to and from treatment rooms. Prepare workstation and treatment area. Ensure guest comfort, safety, and security throughout the service. Promote and sell spa/salon services and related retail items. Clean, maintain, and sterilize tools; keep the work area tidy, dispose of trash and linens, and secure supplies. Follow the daily schedule. Handle inappropriate guest behavior according to the employer SOPs. Maintain required skills and licensure per regional regulations. Report accidents, injuries, and unsafe conditions. Follow company policies, maintain a clean professional uniform, and protect confidential information. Greet guests, anticipate their needs, and thank them sincerely. Communicate clearly and professionally. Build positive working relationships. Stand, sit, or walk for extended periods; move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place items up to 10 pounds.

Requirements

• Technical, trade, or vocational school degree
• at least 1 year of related work experience
• State or regional massage license
• proficient in clear professional communication
• experience with safety procedures and compliance
• knowledge of current spa techniques and treatments
• ability to stand, sit, or walk for extended periods
• ability to lift and move objects up to 10 pounds
• familiarity with company policies and confidentiality.
