Production Manager

Job description

Lead plant production at Botanica the employer, overseeing a 180‑hectare nursery with an annual capacity of 8 million plants. Accountable for plant quality, availability, biosecurity, safety and production cost. Translate demand plans into production, import and growing schedules. Achieve production volumes, readiness dates and manage live plant inventory. Review BOQs for projects, confirm availability and lead times. Lead propagation, greenhouse, shade‑house, flower and seed‑bank operations. Apply crop management practices to maximize quality and reduce loss. Own biosecurity protocol, inspections and phytosanitary documentation. Lead IPM program and R&D roadmap. Ensure compliance with MEWA and use approved species only. Manage direct cost budget, labor, materials, water, fuel and equipment. Plan manpower and report productivity weekly. Lead managers, supervisors, horticulturists and operatives, ensure training and zero‑harm field operations. Apply ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001 and ISO 37301 standards. Drive continuous improvement of systems and processes.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Horticulture, Agriculture, Landscape Architecture or Agricultural Engineering
• Master's degree preferred
• minimum 15 years experience in large‑scale nursery or horticultural production
• at least 7 years leading production operations with a workforce of 100+
• experience in arid‑climate horticulture, native species, biosecurity and irrigation management, preferably in KSA or GCC
• experience supplying plant material to large‑scale landscape developments, including imported and specimen stock
• production planning, inventory control and capacity management for live product
• labour productivity measurement, cost control and operational KPI management
• IPM, biosecurity and phytosanitary compliance
• HSSE leadership in field operations
• fluent English, Arabic preferred.
