Structure Design Manager

Job description

Leads a large team of structural engineers and digital delivery specialists on major infrastructure projects. Oversees the full lifecycle of structural design from concept through detailed design and construction support. Sets technical direction for complex bridge and infrastructure structures, ensures compliance with international and local codes, and drives high-quality BIM-enabled delivery.

Requirements

• UPDA registration or eligibility to obtain it
• International professional registration such as PE, CEng, or PEng
• Identify advantages and disadvantages of proposed construction methodologies
• Confirm feasibility within spatial, operational, schedule, and budget constraints
• Incorporate construction effects into structural designs
• 20 years of structural design experience
• Experience in prominent consultancy firms in structural design
• Substantial experience designing transportation structures such as bridges and underpasses
• Substantial experience designing infrastructure buildings like large‑scale tank/pump stations and substations
• Intimate knowledge of structural design principles
• Proficiency with structural analysis and design software including MIDAS, CSI Bridge, ETABS, SAP 2000, SOFiSTiK
• Ability to perform detailed technical reviews of models, calculations, drawings, and specifications
• Ability to conduct constructability reviews
• Ability to guide a large technical team to deliver multiple projects on time and with quality
• Ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams
• Excellent report writing skills
• Excellent presentation skills
• Master’s degree in Structural Engineering
• Experience in Qatar or GCC major infrastructure or transportation programs
• Experience in seismic design, complex foundations, or long‑span/complex bridges
• Ability to lead proposal preparation defining technical approaches, resources, and schedules
• Ability to review multidisciplinary documents and assess technical validity and coordination
