Director of Engineering

Job description

The Director of Engineering leads the engineering and maintenance team at The Ritz-Carlton Diriyah, ensuring physical assets operate to the highest standards of safety, reliability, sustainability, and luxury. Develops engineering strategy, manages departmental budgets and capital projects, and oversees preventative maintenance programs for HVAC, refrigeration, plumbing, water treatment, and electrical systems. Drives sustainability and energy‑conservation initiatives, ensures full regulatory, health, safety, environmental, and life‑safety compliance. Builds a high‑performing team through coaching, development, and succession planning, and cultivates strong relationships with owners, contractors, consultants, and regional engineering leaders to secure project success and asset stewardship.

Requirements

• proven leadership experience within luxury hotels, resorts or mixed‑use developments
• strong technical expertise across engineering operations, facilities management, preventative maintenance and asset lifecycle planning
• collaborative leadership style with ability to build trust and influence stakeholders at all levels
• demonstrated commercial acumen managing budgets, capital projects, service contracts and operational efficiencies
• commitment to creating safe, sustainable and exceptional environments for guests and associates
• experience leading emergency preparedness and life‑safety programmes in large‑scale facilities
• technical qualifications in Engineering, Building Services, Construction, Mechanics or related discipline with relevant hospitality or facilities management experience
