Arabic Linguist (Part‑time) - AI & Speech Technology

the employer is an AI‑native customer experience platform built for emerging markets. With over 25 years of conversational AI R&D, we serve more than 5,000 enterprises across MENA. As part of the Engineering team, you will support the Text‑to‑Speech (TTS) team with linguistic analysis, Arabic dialect expertise, pronunciation and speech‑quality evaluation, and voice‑related projects. You will help improve the quality, accuracy and naturalness of Arabic speech technology through research on phonological, morphological and syntactic structures of Modern Standard Arabic and Saudi/Gulf dialects, especially Najdi, and provide linguistic guidance to the AI team.

Requirements

• proficient in English
• experience with Saudi Arabic dialects, especially Najdi
• native proficiency in Arabic (MSA and Saudi dialects)
• near‑native Najdi proficiency preferred
• strong knowledge of Arabic phonology and morphology
• familiarity with the International Phonetic Alphabet (IPA)
• knowledge of speech technologies (TTS/ASR) or NLP is a plus
• ability to work part‑time and collaborate remotely with teams in Turkey and Saudi Arabia
• bachelor's degree in Linguistics, Arabic Language, Translation or related field
• strong communication skills with technical, non‑linguist colleagues
• adaptability and continuous learning
