Maintenance Technician (Mechatronics)

Job description

Responsible for upkeep, troubleshooting, and repair of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and automated/control systems across the production workshop, event structures, kinetic sets, staging automation, and attraction installations. Performs preventive and reactive maintenance to keep machinery, tools, and automated equipment safe, reliable, and available for fabrication and live show operations. Duties include maintenance planning, inspection and servicing, fault diagnosis and repair, emergency response, automation system installation and testing, electrical and pneumatic/hydraulic upkeep, documentation of maintenance records, spare parts inventory management, and support to installation and workshop teams.

Requirements

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Mechatronics Engineering, Electromechanical Engineering, Automation, or related technical discipline
• 3+ years of hands‑on maintenance experience in mechatronics, industrial automation, amusement ride maintenance, theatrical/show automation, or similar production environment
• proficiency with PLCs (Siemens, Allen‑Bradley, or equivalent)
• knowledge of motor control systems, VFDs, hydraulics, pneumatics
• proficiency using multimeters, diagnostic software, and hand/power tools for mechanical and electrical fault finding
• knowledge of mechanical power transmission (gearboxes, belts, chains, bearings)
• safety certifications (IOSH, NEBOSH, or equivalent) preferred
• strong problem‑solving skills under time pressure and ability to work independently during show‑critical windows
