Executive Director of Finance (Sports, Entertainment, Arts and Culture)

Job description

The Executive Director of Finance leads financial operations supporting diverse initiatives in sports, performing arts, and culture. Provides strategic financial leadership including planning, budgeting, forecasting, and analysis. Oversees financial reporting and compliance with regulations, assesses financial risks and establishes mitigation policies. Manages a finance team fostering accountability and professional growth. Builds strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders and ensures transparent communication of financial strategies and results.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or related field
• MBA or other advanced degree preferred
• CPA, CFA or equivalent certification highly beneficial
• minimum of 15 years experience in senior finance roles with focus on business finance in sports, arts and culture sectors
• proficient in financial management, budgeting, financial analysis and reporting
• knowledge of unique finance needs of arts and culture sectors
• ability to develop long‑term financial strategies aligned with organizational goals
• strong leadership qualities with experience building high‑performance finance teams
• excellent verbal and written communication skills
• proficient with financial software, ERP systems and data analysis tools.
