Mid-Level API Developer

Job description

Key role to design, build, and maintain the integration layer connecting the digital Residents and Tenants portal with external systems. Develop secure and reliable APIs covering authentication, e-signature, payments, access control, CRM integrations, and notifications. Build middleware logic to keep data synchronized across systems. Define and maintain API contracts using OpenAPI/Swagger. Monitor API performance and resolve issues in production.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience in API development, backend development, or integration engineering
• strong hands‑on experience building and consuming REST/JSON APIs in production
• solid understanding of OAuth2, OIDC, JWT, and webhook architectures
• experience integrating with an e‑signature platform such as DocuSign or Adobe Sign
• hands‑on experience with SSO and identity providers like Azure AD, Okta, or Auth0
• strong proficiency in at least one backend technology such as Node.js,.NET, or Java
• experience with API gateways, middleware, message queues, or iPaaS solutions
• experience with API testing tools such as Postman or Newman
• strong understanding of API security best practices including rate limiting, input validation, authentication/authorization, and secrets management
• ability to translate business requirements and user stories into technical solutions
• strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills
• good understanding of integration testing and production support
• strong communication and collaboration skills with technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
