Pearl is hiring a freelance transcriber fluent in Sinhala for a remote transcription role. This is a paid contract position open to qualified contributors worldwide. 1. Role Overview You will be transcribing audio recordings with two separate channel speakers in the Sinhala language. Each coil has two clearly separated speakers. Your job is to produce clean, accurate, and sequentially arranged transcript with speaker labels and timestamps. 2. What you will do • Listen to audio recordings of Sinhala speakers • Write down what each speaker says accurately and completely • Label each speaker as Speaker 1 or Speaker 2, corresponding to the audio channel • Add timestamps at the beginning of each speaker turn (format: HH:MM:SS) • Ensure transcripts are sequential with no unexplained gaps 3. Requirements • Fluency in native or near-native Sinhala (both spoken and written) • Language Strong written Sinhala · Accuracy of spelling, punctuation and grammar • Ability to work independently and meet daily production targets • Access to a computer with a stable internet connection • Availability for at least 4 hours per day • Previous transcription experience is a plus but not required · All contributors must pass a qualification test 4. Quality Standards • Word Error Rate (WER) of 5% or less in all scripts delivered • Zero speaker naming errors · Speaker 1 must always correspond to Channel 1 • Scripts are reviewed on a periodic basis; Feedback is provided immediately • Files that do not meet the quality threshold will be returned for correction 5.
