Senior SAP BASIS Consultant

Job description

Performs advanced SAP Basis administration tasks including system installation, configuration, upgrades, and patch management. Monitors SAP systems to identify performance issues and proactively implements solutions to enhance stability and efficiency. Manages database administration and tuning to ensure optimal performance of SAP HANA or other SAP-supported databases. Leads complex troubleshooting across SAP landscapes and coordinates with cross‑functional teams to resolve issues. Implements security policies and user administration to protect SAP environments. Mentors junior Basis consultants and promotes knowledge sharing and best practices. Documents procedures, system configurations, and changes for compliance and knowledge management. Collaborates with project teams on SAP system migrations, landscape transformations, and new implementations. Participates in on‑call rotations to provide 24/7 support for critical SAP systems as required

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field
• Minimum 7 years of experience in SAP Basis consulting or administration
• Expertise in SAP system installations, upgrades and performance tuning including SAP HANA
• Strong knowledge of database management systems such as Oracle and SAP HANA and operating systems Linux and Windows
• Experience with SAP security, user administration and transport management
• Excellent problem‑solving and analytical skills with attention to detail
• Strong communication skills and ability to work independently and collaboratively
• Experience mentoring junior team members and leading technical initiatives
• Relevant SAP certifications such as SAP Certified Technology Specialist or higher
• Ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment and participate in on‑call support as needed.
