EHS Manager

Job description

The role involves overseeing all Environmental, Health, and Safety aspects for Battery Energy Storage System projects in Riyadh. Develop, implement, and monitor EHS policies, procedures, and project‑specific safety plans. Ensure compliance with local regulations, client requirements, and international standards. Conduct risk assessments, Job Safety Analyses, Hazard Identification and Risk Assessments, and review method statements. Oversee safety during BESS installation, battery container handling, electrical works, testing, commissioning, and energization. Apply controls for electrical hazards, arc flash, lockout/tagout, work at height, lifting operations, and confined spaces. Develop and implement emergency response plans for thermal runaway, fire, smoke, electrolyte leakage, and other battery hazards. Coordinate with project managers, construction, commissioning teams, subcontractors, and clients on EHS matters. Perform regular site inspections, safety audits, toolbox talks, and training programs. Investigate incidents and near misses, and implement corrective and preventive actions. Monitor subcontractor safety performance and ensure compliance with project EHS requirements. Maintain EHS documentation, inspection reports, incident records, safety statistics, and compliance registers. Monitor waste management, environmental protection, spill prevention, and hazardous material handling. Lead EHS meetings, safety campaigns, and continuous improvement initiatives. Ensure emergency equipment, fire protection systems, first‑aid facilities, and evacuation arrangements are available on site. Prepare and submit periodic EHS performance reports to project management and clients

Requirements

• 5-10 years of experience in Environmental, Health and Safety management
• experience with Battery Energy Storage System projects
• knowledge of international EHS standards
• proficient in developing and applying EHS policies and procedures
• proficient in conducting risk assessments and Job Safety Analyses
• proficient in creating emergency response plans
• proficient in coordinating with project teams and subcontractors
• proficient in preparing EHS performance reports and documentation
