Lead Engineer - Steel Structure

Job description

Lead the design, analysis, coordination, and execution of steel structural projects from concept to completion. Provide technical direction and mentorship to engineers and designers. Coordinate with project managers, architects, civil engineers, MEP disciplines, and contractors. Monitor project progress, budgets, and schedules. Analyze and design steel systems for large venues, long‑span structures, and complex assemblies. Perform gravity, lateral, seismic, wind, thermal, and fatigue calculations and review drawings and specifications. Ensure compliance with local, national, and international codes such as AISC, ASCE, Eurocodes, and project‑specific standards. Conduct design reviews, risk assessments, and quality control of engineering deliverables. Support fabrication, erection, and site inspections and prepare technical reports for stakeholders.

Requirements

• Proficiency in reviewing fabrication and erection drawings, material certificates, welding procedures, inspection and testing requirements, and non‑conformance reports
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or related field
• Minimum 18 years of experience in structural steel engineering with significant technical leadership roles
• Extensive knowledge of steel behavior, member and connection design, stability, load paths, and constructability
• Proficient in structural analysis and design software such as STAAD.Pro, SAP2000, ETABS, RAM, and Tekla.
