Fire Assay Technician

Job description

Responsible for performing routine analytical techniques related to fire assay procedures. Ensures quality and quantity of samples throughout complete analysis. Maintains lead fusion equipment daily. Submits a quality sample of silver beads to the Wet Chem Laboratory. Reports all accidents and incidents to the supervisor or management. Observes safety while performing tasks. Actively participates in shift activities as requested by supervisors to meet regular customer needs. Reports necessary maintenance work to ensure normal operations. Keeps the work area clean and contributes to regular cleaning and maintenance. Follows all analytical methods according to instructions. Contributes to proper record keeping and document control. Maintains good relationships with client personnel and relevant government authorities and community assemblies.

Requirements

• Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent
• at least one year of experience in a similar position
• able to work under minimal supervision
• understanding of lead fusion methods and sample type recognition
• understanding of sample preparation and Wet Chem procedures
• ability to perform all lead fusion operations
• English skills are mandatory
