Cloud Solutions Architect (AWS)

Job description

Leads and oversees cloud migration activities across projects; tracks technical progress against scope, plan and objectives; reviews migration assessments, wave plans and the chosen approach for each workload; reviews cutover, rollback and hypercare plans before each wave and confirms technical readiness for go-live; monitors technical risks and issues during execution and defines mitigation actions; reviews and approves solution designs, architecture diagrams and technical standards; reviews project deliverables such as landing zone designs, migration runbooks, test plans, operational handover documents and as-built documentation for quality and compliance; defines review checklists, acceptance criteria and quality gates and tracks findings to closure; ensures designs follow the AWS Well-Architected Framework across security, reliability, performance, cost and operations; verifies security and regulatory controls are covered in designs and deliverables; provides architectural guidance and AWS best practices to delivery teams throughout migration and transformation; advises on key technical decisions including account structure, landing zone, networking, identity, backup, disaster recovery and tooling; coaches engineers and shares reusable patterns; collaborates with project teams, client stakeholders, AWS and third‑party vendors to resolve technical challenges; represents the technical position in steering and status meetings and explains design trade‑offs and risks to technical and non‑technical audiences; acts as escalation point for technical disagreements and decisions; supports technical governance, design reviews and decision‑making across cloud projects; contributes to practice review templates, standards and reference architectures; supports pre‑sales with solution reviews and technical input to proposals.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology or related field
• 7+ years of experience in cloud architecture, infrastructure or IT consulting
• at least 4 years of experience on AWS
• AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional
• experience overseeing or leading technical delivery of enterprise migrations to AWS
• proven experience reviewing and approving solution designs and technical deliverables
• broad knowledge of AWS services across compute, storage, databases, networking, identity and security
• good understanding of migration methods, tooling and landing zone concepts
• understanding of Infrastructure-as-Code and CI/CD practices to review their application
• experience managing technical risks and working with vendors and client stakeholders
• strong written and spoken English and ability to write clear, actionable review feedback
• Arabic language skills
• preferred AWS Specialty certifications (Security, Advanced Networking) or AWS Certified DevOps Engineer – Professional
• knowledge of Saudi regulatory frameworks (NCA ECC/CCC, SAMA CSF, PDPL)
• experience reviewing disaster recovery and business continuity designs
• familiarity with core infrastructure services (Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, ADFS) and enterprise databases (Oracle, SQL Server, SAP on AWS)
• multi‑cloud exposure (Google Cloud, Azure)
• consulting experience with government, banking, energy or telecom clients in KSA or GCC.
