Machine Operator

Job description

The role aims to set up, operate, and maintain machinery in a manufacturing environment to ensure high-quality product output and smooth, full-capacity operation. Responsibilities include complying with safety and quality regulations; performing quality control and recordkeeping; setting up and starting machinery and adjusting it for performance; operating equipment as instructed; troubleshooting and performing maintenance; cleaning machinery and maintaining a tidy work area; assisting in installation, maintenance, and repair of machinery; feeding raw materials to semi‑automated machines; inspecting parts precisely with measurement tools; fixing issues during the shift; checking output for machine‑related errors; keeping records of approved and defective units; maintaining activity logs; compounding or processing ingredients per formulas; reading work orders to determine production specifications; observing production to ensure safe and efficient operation; mixing ingredients for specified times; dumping specified material amounts into equipment; collecting material or product samples for laboratory testing.

Requirements

• Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical or Production
• 3-6 years experience in a similar role in the FMCG industry, especially deodorant production
• proven machine operating experience in a manufacturing facility
• detail‑oriented
• understanding of production and plant processes
• analytical and numerical skills for mathematical calculations
• ability to follow written and oral instructions
• ability to work in a team
• ability to lift heavy equipment, bend, and stand or walk for long periods
• willingness to work in shifts
• proficiency with hand tools
• ability to use digital apps and Microsoft Office
• ability to use SCADA systems
• ability to read blueprints, schematics and manuals
• good communication skills
